Spring is here 🌷

Hello! If you are receiving this email, it is because you are a member of one of Raft Foundation’s fiscally-sponsored projects. We send out this bulletin toward the end of every month.

Zoom gathering on April 7

RSVP here and drop in to meet other Raft project leaders for our spring Zoom gathering, Tuesday, April 7! We will be breaking into smaller groups, sharing about our projects, and getting some support from one another. We are trying an afternoon-evening time to see if others are able to make it: 6pm ET / 5pm CT / 4pm MT / 3pm PT

Member fund launch - reminder!

Thank you to all the projects that have submitted their member fund allocations so far! If you have not yet done so, please submit here (pw for all internal forms is “solidarity”)

The Member Fund’s balance currently sits at $15,314.86. You can see what funds have been allocated so far here - it updates in real time!

Happy to answer any questions! If you don’t submit in the next month or so I will start bothering you directly :^)

Opportunity to meet other project leads

This month, we will be sending out emails offering the (opt-in) opportunity to be connected to another project lead for one of Raft’s projects. This time we will be doing it randomly, to mix it up! Keep an eye out for more info.

Documentation & policy updates

  • A clarification for last month’s bulletin - please report all check donations using the form at https://donate.raft.foundation :)

  • Please also submit some basic info using this form every time you submit a grant application

  • We have adjusted our policy on when contracts are required - a minor adjustment that so far affects no one! - so that, in addition to contracts with Raft project leads and contracts where the contractor will receive $5,000 or more in a year, we are also including contracts where the contracted amount is $5,000 or more

  • We added some language about bringing on new activities to the project structure and governance page

  • We cleaned up the OC-related guidance on the international expenses page

  • Join RaftTalk so that you can view the Private Wiki pages! Use this invite link~

  • Don’t forget, the password for all internal forms is currently “solidarity”!

Operational notes

  • New projects: Please join us in welcoming Cybernetics Library and The Regenerative Governance Project!

  • Stripe adjustment transactions: In our preparations for our annual audit, we realized that there are some small inconsistencies about how Stripe transactions have been tracked in OC. Where this affects a project’s balance, we will need to add an adjustment transaction to OC. We will contact you when we do so, and if the number is significant - as in, more than a few dollars - we will reach out to you in advance of debiting the funds

  • Raft team travel: This year, Nathan will be attending DWeb Camp, the Open Collective member org retreat (pushing for more privacy features!), and Aspiration Dev Summit

Celebrations

Today - at the request of another Raft project - we want to celebrate Deb and Josh of Relational Tech Project. RTP joined Raft last year, and has (reportedly 😀) been very generous with their time, offering advice and support to other projects. We love you RTP!

(Who else should we celebrate?)

~

See you online~

Nathan
